In one study, test animals lost some of their brain power when a lot of sugar was included in their diet.
In another study, Coffee drinkers tended to live longer.
At first, it seemed to the researchers that coffee drinking was not an important factor in longevity. However, once other risk factors such as smoking and poor diet were factored out, it seemed clear to researchers that each cup of coffee per day nudged up the chances of living longer.
It did not seem to matter whether the coffee was regular or decaf, by the way.
So, enjoy your coffee, but don't put sugar in it.
