NORTH BAY ? Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is pleased to announce an Ontario Trillum Foundation Grant of $77,400 for the North Bay Nordic Ski Club.
?Fedeli was on hand at the club?s location on North Shore Road in North Bay Sunday afternoon along with dozens of cross-country ski enthusiasts, young and old alike.
?The funding will cover a period of 48 months.? The money will be used to hire a ski program coordinator to coach athletes, train and mentor volunteer?coaches, grow the club?s programming and assist with administrative duties.
This new position is designed to ensure that the organization, currently working at full capacity, can meet the current and future demand for service and quality programming.
?The North Bay Nordic Ski Club has a long and strong tradition within our local sports and recreation community, and it?s my hope this funding will only enhance that going forward,? said Fedeli.
