four23 seeks a creative developer to join its multidisciplinary studio in London.

Who we are

Founded in 2004, four23 came to life as a multidisciplinary studio, bringing creativity, insight, strategy and craftsmanship to a diverse range of clients, delivering creative projects for clients including global organisations ? adidas, Oakley and Virgin ? arts and charitable institutions ? the Belarus Free Theatre, Medici Quartet and Graeae Theatre Company ? and for individuals including Olympic athlete Mo Farah and Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey.

What we do

A multidisciplinary structure was at the core of four23 from the outset and the blurring of disciplines and crafts enables us to seamlessly combine graphic design, moving image, spatial design, writing, photography and digital media.

Making such broad creative strokes is an approach that has taken a number of years and a great deal of thought and experimentation to evolve and refine.

Projects

Recently we have shot film with Kevin Spacey at the Old Vic, been shortlisted in an international architecture competition, researched Maker culture with a world leading Business School, created animations for Snell & Wilcox, interior designed retail environments at Boxpark, engineered a touring sustainability museum with the Princes Trust, created brands for a Swiss private bank and the UK?s leading disability led theatre company, celebrated Originality on every billboard in London, curated exhibitions for the UK Film Council, cloaked Covent Garden in a 3D projection for Oakley, taken over the high street at the Edinburgh Fringe with Virgin Money, photographed the best footballer in the world at the Barcelona Olympic Stadium, choreographed an Olympic launch party at the Design Museum, designed Mo Farah?s double gold winning running shoes, created an audio-visual installation for Samsung, toured the world to document Sam Mendes? Richard III, illustrated cartoon strips for Virgin Money Giving, developed a mobile app for Stella McCartney, broadcast live TV with Shaun White, helped define the meaning of Original Modern with Peter Saville, explored Beyond Reason with Valentino Rossi and Fernando Alonso and collaborated with the cleverest, sharpest and most interesting people that came into our orbit.

The basics

First and foremost, you must be able to code and build websites. That?s key.

Your front-end development skills must be great.

But we don?t just want a coder. You won?t be coding all day, everyday.

We want someone who will be part of our creative team. That means you?ll be sat around a table with graphic designers, interior designers, researchers, filmmakers, writers and project managers.

You?ll add a sharp digital mind to that group and its thinking.

Day to day you?ll be developing digital ideas with that creative team, wire framing and planning UX, leading external digital partners and freelancers (who will do the heavy coding), coding and shaping our internal websites (four23.net in particular) and self initiated digital projects, speaking to clients, sharing new developments in digital with the wider team and generally embracing the wide variety of skills within four23.

And you must be good at self-management. We won?t micro manage you to an inch of your working existence.

Skills

You will have a great level of front-end coding ability. You can not only talk about it, you can actually do it.

You will have an understanding and appreciation of back end coding and development so you can talk the talk with external digital teams.

You will enhance our digital creative and will be innately curious of all things technical, infusing the whole studio with digital thinking. We?re pretty sharp already, so you?ll have to be on it.

You?ll have incredible and varied reference points that will become a part of our digital conversation. You?ll express your ideas eloquently and without unnecessary jargon.

Experience

You will have worked in a similar digital role within an agency environment for a minimum of two years.

You will have experience of developing cross browser and cross platform compatible solutions.

You will be able to input across a variety of projects, websites, microsites, banners, apps and other creative content.

You will be comfortable offering SEO support and reports through Google analytics/web trends, allowing us to provide solid post campaign reports to our clients.

You will be proactive in identifying opportunities for expanding and developing existing briefs though digital developments.

You?ll be highly organised, remain calm under pressure and be able to?manage your own time. Important.

You?ll liaise with the creative teams to ensure work is delivered to an exceptional standard with an eye on the commerciality of the business.

You?ll be aware of the overall delivery requirements of the studio, and communicate project updates regularly and with clarity.

You will demonstrate that you value others? input and expertise and are keen to learn.

You thrive working collaboratively, build great relationships within our network and really enjoy the creative process.

You will be comfortable presenting your ideas in a confident, assured manner when presenting to clients or talking in group meetings.
